Vanishing foam, also known as Vanishing Spray is a temporary visual marker used by the main referee on the pitch. This spray is fundamental because its used to point out the minimum distance that the defending team’s players may position in from the ball when there is a direct free kick. It can also indicate the spot that the direct free kick is taken from. This spray looks very similar to shaving foam, except its temporary and completely disappears in a small period of time. Vanishing foam is also to prevent useless delays by impeding the defending team’s wall to get closer.
